Anotona Zebua, Abdi. The Influence of STT SAPPI Curriculum Components and Lecturer Competencies on the Success of Graduates Implementing the Curriculum in Rural Areas. Supervised by RATNA KATHARINA and D. FRANKLYN PURBA.
Education is a priority program for every country because it is a means to build
quality human resources for a nation and this is in line with Indonesia's national
education goals. The success of an education is supported by the existence of
interrelated educational elements. In this study, the elements of the curriculum and
lecturer competencies became the focus as well as research variables (X1 and X2)
because they had a strong relationship with the success of STT SAPPI alumni (Y) in
service fields, especially rural areas. This study aims to (a) explain alumni perceptions
of the STT SAPPI curriculum components, (b) explain alumni perceptions of the
competence of STT SAPPI lecturers, (c) describe the success rate of STT SAPPI
alumni in implementing the STT SAPPI curriculum in rural areas, and (d) analyze the
influence of components STT SAPPI curriculum and lecturer competence on the
success of graduates in implementing the curriculum in rural areas. This type of
research is descriptive quantitative with the sampling technique used is simple random
sampling. Analysis of hypothetical data by using multiple product-moment regression
test using Microsoft Exel and SPSS 20. Perceptions of STT SAPPI alumni on the
components of the STT SAPPI curriculum as a whole are good (interval X > 3.37) with
a total frequency of 60 respondents (76.16%). Alumni's perception of lecturer
competence has a 'good' category with a frequency of 52 respondents (67.58%). The
category of alumni success in implementing the STT SAPPI curriculum in rural areas
in this study was 'good' with a frequency of 60 respondents (79.10%). For the results
of the analysis of the influence of the STT SAPPI curriculum components and the
competence of lecturers on the success of graduates in implementing the curriculum in
rural areas, it is stated that there is a strong positive effect. Thus, the Ha hypothesis is
accepted and the Ho hypothesis is rejected. The value of determination (R2) is 0.514
(51.4%). This means that the model used is able to explain the variation in the Y value
of 0.514 (51.4%). The remaining 48.6% is influenced or explained by other variables
outside of the STT SAPPI curriculum component variables and lecturer competence.
